SINGAPORE TRIP
May 19-21, 2013 Mode of Transportation: Airplane Airline: Cebu Pacific Ticket Cost: P2,837/person roundtrip Booking Method: Online via www.cebupacificair.com Hotel: Festive Hotel, Sentosa Accommodation Type: Deluxe Family King Cost: P2,395/person/night Booking Method: Online via http://www.rwsentosa.com Room Inclusion: Breakfast for 2 pax & 6 entrance tickets to Universal Studios Singapore Review: For our 2nd trip to Singapore we decided to stay in Sentosa instead of the city because our plan was just to go to Universal Studios. The hotel was a good choice it had one king size bed, one loft type bed and a sofa bed that could be turned into a queen size bed. It's perfect for a family who wishes to stay in one room. But if your stay in Singapore would be to shop then I do not recommend that you stay in this hotel because you have to pay additional SGD4 every time you return to the hotel from the city, not unless you have the energy to walk on your way back to the hotel which is quiet far though. Activities: Universal Studios, Makan Sutra, Singapore Zoo, Marina Bay Sands, Singapore Flyer Booking Method: For the Universal Studios it was included in the hotel package, for the Singapore Zoo, Marina Bay Sands and Singapore Flyer we bought the tickets on site. Makan Sutra is a hawker place so no entrance tickets on this one just food food and food. Review: For the Universal Studio this was included in the hotel package (if you have a BDO master card). For the other activities we paid them directly on the spot. For the Singapore Zoo it would be cheaper if you buy the Zoo + Night Safari Package which you can buy directly at the zoo, they also give free lanyards when you avail of their package. This year I think they have already opened up the River Safari so you can just check out their website for the rates. For the Marina Bay Sands, non-hotel guests can go up the viewing deck sad to say the infinity pool is exclusive to hotel guests only. The entrance to the viewing deck costs SGD20 but there's no limit to how long you want to stay up there, so you can stay from lunch to dinner if you want. For the Singapore Flyer, we were able to get a coupon from the airport that gave us 25% off per person if I'm not mistaken. But during our 2nd trip there was no coupon in the maps but always do check the maps or visit the websites for coupons. For more pictures please click Day1, Day2, Day3, Day4, Day5, Recent. |
JOHOR BAHRU TRIP
May 18-19, 2013 Mode of Transportation: Bus Cost: P330/ per person roundtrip Tips: From Singapore it only take 2 hours or less to go to Johor Bahru Malaysia via Bus (it's also the cheapest instead of booking a flight). My one and only tip is that when you go to Johor with a big group don't ever ever take the airport bus (transtar) because the bus won't wait for you at the checkpoint (this is when you exit SG) there's a notice in the bus that they will wait for 15mins but in our experience they left us there and it wasn't even 15mins yet! It was a good thing that the bus 160/170 let us go on board to proceed to Johor (take note it was for free! we didn't have an ezlink card so when we got off board we asked the driver how much we will pay he was shock that we haven't paid yet but he said that's we didn't have to pay anymore). The good thing about riding bus 160/170 is that the bus interval is every 10mins just make sure that you ride the same bus line. But the airport bus' interval is every 1hour so if your bus leaves you behind you have to wait for another 1hour to catch the next bus going to Johor. Technically, you will be in the middle of nowhere because you have exited SG already but you haven't entered JB yet! Hotel: Pulai Spring Resort Accommodation Type: 2 Bedroom Suite Cost: P2,465/person/night Booking Method: Online via http://www.pulaisprings.com Room Inclusion: Breakfast for 4 pax & Entrance Tickets to Legoland Review: The hotel was great though quiet far from the city but we enjoyed our stay. It was quiet and big and the price was not bad either. Though if you plan to just visit Legoland and Hello Kitty town during your stay I suggest you book the hotel next to Hello Kitty town or wait for the hotel in Legoland to open. Activities: Hello Kitty Town, Legoland Cost: The entrance to Legoland is included in the hotel package but normally the entrance is RM140 for adults and RM110 for kids but if you buy online the discounted price is RM112 for adults and RM88 for kids. For the Hello Kitty Town the entrance is RM75 for adults and kids. Though you can also avail of the package Hello Kitty Town + The Little Big Club for RM110. We didn't get to visit The Little Big Club anymore due to time constraints. Booking Method: For Legoland tickets c/o Hotel for Hello Kitty Town we bought the tickets on site. Take note that if you wish to purchase the Hello Kitty Town tickets online you have to purchase then 7days ahead of schedule because they take some time to process the tickets. Review: Hello Kitty Town and The Little Big Club is an indoor amusement park. Actually there's not much rides in here only lots of play & activity area for kids. The area is very small but interactive and here the kids can touch and play with everything. If you will be visiting Hello Kitty Town only 2hours will be enough for the whole trip. The Legoland on the other hand is a big outdoor park. It's not complete yet so it only took us around 6hours to ride everything. Also, we went on an off peak season so the queue for the rides weren't that long. Make sure than you bring hats, sunblock, extra clothes and umbrella just in case it rains. The weather in SG and Malaysia can be unpredictable. Good thing though that the sun was up when we were there. If you are a branded person you can also try the Johor Premium Outlet, they say that prices are cheaper by almost 75% although we didn't get a chance to go there anymore. KUALA LUMPUR TRIP
March 3-8, 2012 Mode of Transportation: Airplane Airline: Cebu Pacific Ticket Cost: P1,883/person roundtrip Booking Method: Online via www.cebupacificair.com Hotel: Grand Seasons Hotel Accommodation Type: Superior Room Cost: P1,271/person/night Booking Method: Online via Agoda Room Inclusion: None Review: This is a very good hotel to stay in. Their room is very big, it has two queen size beds and also it's very near the Chowkit MRT Station, you can just walk from the hotel going to the station. It will take around 5minutes walk only. The employees are very helpful and they would always greet you will a smile and lend you a helping hand most especially if you are loaded with a lot of shopping items. Activities: Genting Highland, Petronas Tower, Bukit Bintang Shopping Mall, Rippley's Believe it or Not Museum Review: We got on the hop on hop off bus to tour KL, you can check out the website but most of the hotels will be able to tell you on where you can catch this. It will go around all the important places around the city. You have an option to go off board and wait for the next bus to come or just remain on board take a look at the city. We also went to Genting Higlands which is 2hours away from KL. Going to Genting we hired a taxi but going back to KL we got onbard the bus. Genting is similar to Baguio it's very cold. You can also ride the cable car going up to the amusement area. The hotels in Genting doesn't have any air-con because the place is so cold already. It's a place for both young and old. Genting has two amusement one is indoor and the other is outdoor, the theme of the indoor park is like traveling around the world, there's a mini Eiffel Tower, Times Square, etc. Malaysia is another shopping paradise for clothes, shoes and electronics; though I haven't been to Bangkok yet. Like Singapore it has it's own version of Sim Lim they call it Low Yat. For more picture please click here. |
HONGKONG TRIP
November 13-15, 2011 Mode of Transportation: Airplane Airline: Cebu Pacific Ticket Cost: P3,635/person roundtrip Booking Method: Online via www.cebupacificair.com Hotel: City Garden Hotel Accommodation Type: Cost: P1,500/person/night Booking Method: Online via Agoda Room Inclusion: None Review: The hotel is 10mins walk from the MRT Station. Yes, I love taking MRTs whenever I'm traveling not only is it convenient but it's also the fastest mode of transportation. The room is very big unlike the hotels in Mongkok Area. Activities: Ocean Park, Disneyland, Ngong Ping, The Peak, Madam Tussuad Booking Method: We purchased the tickets on site. Review: Disneyland is a great theme park for kids and young at heart, if you're going to Hong Kong I really recommend going there although the rides are not comparable to Universal Studios. But the decors and souvenirs are much cheaper. Ocean Park is more of a theme park for older kids to adults. Ngong Ping is a must see attraction in Hong Kong, it's located at Lantau Island. It's the longest cable car that I have been to so far. The Peak is a tram ride from the heart of Hong Kong, as the name calls it once you reach the top you'll then get a good view of Hong Kong. Another attraction, which is also at the Peak is the Madam Tussaud Wax Museum. Here you can take a picture with famous personalities and it will look like you really got to meet them. Don't forget to bring a camera with you and prepare yourself for some pose. For more picture please click Day 1, Day 2, Day 3. |
BRUNEI DARUSSALAM TRIP
September 12-14, 2010 Mode of Transportation: Airplane Airline: Cebu Pacific Ticket Cost: P1,167/person roundtrip Booking Method: Online via www.cebupacificair.com Hotel: LeGallery Suites Hotel Accommodation Type: Standard Room Cost: P478/person/night Booking Method: Email via Hotel Email Room Inclusion: Breakfast Included Review: It's a very cheap hotel and very near the bus stop. It also has a nearby mall. The downside is the hotel doesn't have any elevator so if make sure you don't bring bulky luggages with you. Activities: Empire Hotel, Istana Nurul Iman, Royal Regalia, Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque Review: The Empire Hotel is one of the highest star rating hotel in the world. Entrance to the hotel is free you can take as much picture as you want. The buffet is really great. The Istana Nurul Iman the residence of the Sultan of Brunei. Every year during Hari Raya (similar to our Christmas Celebration) they have an open house with free food and you get to shake hands with the Royal Family. Being a Muslim country the women only get to shake hands with the women and the men gets to shake hands with the men. There is a separate line. After that you get to bring home some goodies normally a yellow Tupperware with gold dust that contains native cakes or snack. Children also get some envelops. The Royal Regalia is a museum contains all the things that are owned by the Royal Family. I'm not sure if camera is allowed inside but I think you can at least take a picture at the Royal Carriage that is usually used by the Sultan during parades. Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddin Mosque is a royal Islamic Mosque located at the heart of the city. It's considered as one of the most beautiful Mosque in Asia Pacific. You can take a picture outside the Mosque only. For more picture please click here. |
